Thread Veins & Facial Veins/Spider Veins

Thread veins are very small veins that are most commonly visible on the face, legs, nose, chest and arms. In some people they expand and show through the skin, giving a red or purplish appearance. Thread veins are extremely common and sometimes embarrassing, mostly affecting the face, body and legs. The causes of thread veins are unknown although they may be caused by changes in temperature, smoking, hormonal changes, alcohol and prolonged standing as well as being a possible inherited condition. At skin-thetics, we offer both non surgical techniques of Sclerotherapy and YAG Laser, to combat thread veins.

YAG Laser treatments will remove fine and large thread veins quickly and effectively two or three sessions is usually all that is needed to leaving skin feeling smooth and blemish-free. This is a non invasive treatment for veins 1-3 mm in size. We generally recommend on average 5 treatments. Sclerotherpahy is also effective in removing thread veins from the body and legs - this is a relatively simple non surgical treatment which only takes 30-40 mins. A very fine needle is used to inject a solution into the vein, which causes it to perish and, over a course of treatments, disappear completely. A treatment session takes approximately 30-40 minutes. The number of treatment sessions depends on how many areas need to be treated but we generally recommend on average 4 treatments.
