More informationabout Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment which uses crystals on the skin.
Microdermabrasion is basically an ultra-advanced facial scrub. Tiny crystals are blasted at your face and then the dead-skin cells are hovered up through a tube.
Microdermabrasion softens the appearance of acne scarring and other surface irregularities, and leaves a polished, smooth surface.Microdermabrasion has the advantage of no downtime and the results are remarkable.
Microdermabrasion is performed with a jet of micro crystals vacuumed with a handpiece across the skins surface at high pressure to remove the dead and damaged cells. The therapist can control the depth of the abrasion.A controlled microdermabrasion treatment is:
- Safe
- Results are very successful and lasting
- Precise and carried out on localised areas
- Applied on any type of skin
- Not dangerous or painful
After the treatment the skin may feel tight as if exposed to the sun or wind. Some skins may peel and it is important to use good moisturisers as advised by the therapist.
If deeper treatment is performed, there may be marked redness and swelling which will subside within a few days. Healing time varies from 3 to 4 days or longer, but the results are worthwhileA total UV block is needed after the treatment to protect the skin from environmental damage
